This year we are collecting supplies for a new kindergarten teacher and class at Martin Luther King, Jr., Elementary School here in Yakima.
Thanks to all who gave in support of this good cause! On Sunday, August 17, we delivered the following supplies to the new teacher during our worship assembly:
• crayons (24-pack)
• Kleenex
• scissors (blunt-tipped)
• pencils
• glue sticks
• washable markers
• construction paper
For her new classroom, she would also like to have:
•hand sanitizer
•number or letter puzzles
•Candyland board games
•Chutes & Ladders (superhero version) board games
•dice
•dollar store storage buckets
•totes
•Clorox wipes
•baby wipes
•Dixie cups
•velcro with sticky backs
•whiteboard markers & erasers
•gallon Ziploc bags
•sticky notes
•pipe cleaners
•tempra paints and paint brushes

Collecting Supplies for Martin Luther King, Jr., Elementary School

Last year we provided school supplies for 120 fifth graders plus lots of extras at Satus Elementary School in Wapato. Donations included 2-pocket folders, spiral notebooks, pencils, erasers, and glue sticks, plus some extra odds and ends. We also gratefully received a large donation of school supplies from United Way of Central Washington.

We believe that when we give to help those in need, we are giving to God.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done” (Proverbs 19:17, NIV).
We believe that those who give receive an even greater blessing than those who receive the gift, just as Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35, NIV).
