FBL FUNDRAISER TOURNAMENT - August 15-17

Our first-ever fundraiser tournament brought in well over $200 (final total will be figured up soon).  Thanks to the 20+ players who participated.  Congratulations to Corbin T.’s team, which won the tournament!

The Basics...

1. •We play yard-ball style, with plastic balls and bats.  No special equipment is needed—not even gloves.
   

2. •We pitch gently to less experienced players and hardball-style to more competitive players.  (See our Video page.)
   

3. •All ages play together.  (We recommend ages 5 and above.)
   

4. •Families can choose to play together or separately.
   

5. •Everyone plays.  No one sits on the bench.  (Players with injuries/disabilities play according to their capability.)
   

6. •Free team t-shirt to new players who join a team at the start of the season!

1. •We strive to provide a family-friendly and pleasantly competitive atmosphere.
   

2. •We value good sportsmanship, fair play, mutual respect, and fun.
   

3. •We believe intergenerational activities like the FBL nurture healthy families, a strong community, and a life-giving church.
   

Our Purpose...

1. •Family Baseball League is a ministry of the Summit View Church of Christ for building intergenerational community and reaching out to our neighbors in the Yakima area.
   

2. •Our goal is to honor God through the kind of community envisioned by God for his people in the Bible’s book of Zechariah: “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age.  The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.’”  (Zechariah 8:4-5, TNIV)
