AUDIO/VISUAL TECHNOLOGY

  1. This ministry seeks to honor God by helping the congregation see and hear our speakers as effectively and efficiently as possible.  Goals of this ministry include acquiring new equipment and maintaining current equipment; installing safe, reliable, and adequate equipment within the budget; training and scheduling AV operators; and keeping AV controls simple and easy to use.

BABY & TODDLER SUPPLIES MINISTRY

  1. This ministry provides diapers, clothes, hygiene items, and toys to families in need who are raising an infant or toddler.  Families are directed to this ministry by Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) of Yakima.

BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY

  1. This ministry exists to be God’s hands by giving to those who are truly in need in a prayerful and generous manner, through the collective hands of the saints at Summit View.  Goals of this ministry include assisting through our food pantry, Baby Supplies Ministry, and occasionally church finances for those things that are important to life and health and that family is unable to provide.

BUILDING/GROUNDS MINISTRY

  1. The purpose of this ministry is to honor God and bless his church by keeping the church building and grounds maintained so they are useful for worship and ministry.  Goals of this ministry include maintaining or improving building appearance, maintaining all yard and garden equipment, keeping members informed and involved about safety, and making cosmetic changes to the building.

DEAF AND HARD-OF-HEARING

  1. This ministry seeks to spread the Good News to the deaf and to increase their knowledge of the Bible.  Goals of this ministry include developing a more deaf-friendly worship assembly, providing American Sign Language interpreters during worship, offering lessons in ASL, offering Bible study and classes specifically for the deaf, and offering fellowship nights and Sunday School for deaf children.

EDUCATION MINISTRY

  1. The aim of this ministry is to ensure curricula are Bible-based, teaching to increase both knowledge and spiritual growth.  Goals of this ministry include coordinating, facilitating, supervising, scheduling, and staffing all classes, including Sunday morning, Wednesday night, deaf, and Children’s Church classes to meet the needs of all attendees.

FAMILY BASEBALL LEAGUE

  1. This branch of our Local Outreach Ministry seeks to build intergenerational community and reach out to our neighbors in the Yakima area.  Our goal is to honor God through the kind of community envisioned by God for his people in the Bible’s book of Zechariah: “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age.  The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.’”  (Zechariah 8:4-5, TNIV)  See our Family Baseball League page.

FINANCES/OFFICE/ADMINISTRATION MINISTRY

  1. This ministry seeks to safeguard the resources of God’s church and to promote accuracy in the financial data produced.  It also seeks to promote operational efficiency while overseeing the running of the church office and all aspects of administrative functions, including the budget and payroll and accounting records.  Some goals of this ministry include conducting financial audits, reconciliations, and evaluations.

LOCAL OUTREACH MINISTRY

  1. The purpose of this ministry is to share the love of Jesus Christ and the good news of the gospel by emulating the teaching and example of Jesus.  Goals of this ministry include coordinating and facilitating current programs, including ministry through Love INC of Yakima, Rod’s House, Madison House, and the Family Baseball League; and planning, organizing, and staffing new outreach efforts.

NON-LOCAL AND FOREIGN MISSIONS

  1. This ministry seeks to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ outside our community and around the world.  Goals of this ministry include continuing to focus on the needs of the organizations we currently support (Cameroon Missions; Little Hands, Big Hearts [Honduras], and Mountain States Children’s Home) and providing information to our members about mission trip opportunities and opportunities to support missions through prayer, fundraisers, and monetary gifts.

SECURITY/SAFETY MINISTRY

  1. The purpose of this ministry is to ensure the safety and security of members and their guests.  Goals of this ministry include developing a medical response team; establishing security controls, including key logs and alarm code management; maintaining and improving procedures to ensure security of safe, sensitive records and documents; organizing and staffing parking lot security; scheduling volunteers; and initiating a response protocol.

SENIORS MINISTRY

  1. This ministry aims to monitor the welfare and recreation activities of our senior church members.  Goals of this ministry include arranging senior trips, arranging guest speakers for the Wednesday morning Bible study, determining special needs of this group, coordinating volunteers, and arranging visits and providing Communion to shut-ins.

WORSHIP MINISTRY

  1. This ministry seeks to make the worship service more alive, personal, and involving, making it a time when people want to be there and will be encouraged.  Some goals of this ministry include planning, scheduling, and organizing Communion; coordinating song leader schedules; training speakers and song leaders; expanding the list of leaders; keeping members informed and involved; and maintaining an attitude of worship.

YOUTH/TEEN MINISTRY

  1. This ministry exists to pursue teens so they can learn and grow spiritually in Christ, serve and praise God, and form lasting relationships with other young believers.  Events this ministry would like to offer include Sunday hangouts and other Sunday events, Wednesday night devotionals, Sunday morning Bible classes and worship assemblies, and community service projects.
