These categories will be used to select merit-based invitations to the All-Star Game. (See details on the schedule page.)
All 4 teams advance to the playoffs in July, but not as equals. Teams are seeded according to their records, the team with the best record receiving the #1 seed and the team with the worst record receiving the #4 seed.
Having a higher seed offers advantages. In each playoff game, the team with the higher seed is the home team. (The one exception is Game 7, the championship rematch if necessary; in that game, the visiting team of Game 6 becomes the home team for Game 7.) Additionally, the #1 seed earns the double advantage of playing the lowest-seeded team in their first playoff game (the #4 seed).
